Low Income Taxpayer Clinic

OLC’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic serves clients statewide. To qualify, the client’s income must fall below 250% of the Federal Poverty Income guidelines. The objective of the tax clinic is to ensure the fairness and integrity of the tax system for taxpayers who are low-income or speak English as a Second Language (ESL). OLC’s tax clinic provides representation in tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), seeks to educate individuals about their rights and responsibilities as taxpayers, and identifies and advocates for issues that impact low income and ESL taxpayers. We provide legal services in English, Spanish, and other languages. To contact the tax clinic, call (800) 672-4919 or send an email to LITC@oregonlawcenter.org.

The tax clinic’s representation is limited to assisting clients with IRS disputes and related state or local tax issues.  We may be able to help you if you owe money to the IRS, had your refund reduced or offset, are seeking spousal relief, are the victim of identity theft, received requests for documentation from the IRS, or otherwise need assistance with an IRS related issue.  OLC’s tax clinic does not prepare tax returns or ITIN applications unless such preparation is related to resolving a tax dispute or obtaining compliance for a represented client. For all other assistance with tax return preparation, please contact CASH Oregon at www.cashoregon.org.

Oregon Law Center is open and available to assist you.

While we are not accepting walk-in clients right now, please contact the office in your area by phone and we will get back to you shortly.  You can find your local office here.  Thank you and stay safe.
