Erika Hente joined Oregon Law Center in 2017 as the Managing Attorney for OLC’s Lane county office. She began serving as Executive Director in August of 2024. Prior to working with OLC, Erika worked as an attorney and manager with Legal Aid Service of Oregon in various offices from 2004 to 2016.
 
Erika grew up in an Air Force family, so called many places home during her childhood. She went to Colorado State University as an undergraduate and went on to graduate from Syracuse University College of Law with her JD. She came to the Pacific Northwest during her second summer of law school, when she interned with the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project in Seattle before ultimately moving to Oregon in 2004 after working as a legal aid attorney in California.
Jennifer Hisey
Jennifer Hisey joined the Oregon Law Center in 2020 as a Supervising Attorney in the Lane County office. She moved into the statewide role of Director of Advocacy in 2024.
 
Jennifer grew up in North-Central Washington, attended Western Washington University for her BA and then attended the University of Oregon School of Law. Following her graduation in 2004, Jennifer began her legal career working for the Lane County Law and Advocacy Domestic Violence Clinic as a staff attorney. In 2006, Jennifer became a staff attorney in the Albany office of Legal Aid Services of Oregon. Jennifer stopped her long daily commute from Eugene to Albany and began working in Eugene again in 2020 with the Oregon Law Center. She enjoys family, pets (hers and everyone else’s), the beach and well drafted policies and procedures that support OLC’s mission.
Sarah Demartino

Sarah DeMartino se unió al Centro de Leyes de Oregon (Oregon Law Center) en 2008 como Especialista en Finanzas y Recursos Humanos hasta 2016 cuando ascendió al puesto de Directora Financiera. 

Sarah creció en Springfield, Oregon y asistió a la Universidad de Oregon (University of Oregon), donde se especializó en Literatura Inglesa. En 1996 se mudó a Portland y comenzó a trabajar en la Cruz Roja Americana – Oregon Trail Chapter. Después de desempeñar varios trabajos encontró su nicho en el departamento de contabilidad. Aquí es donde se dio cuenta de que quería seguir una carrera en el sector sin fines de lucro. Después de dejar la Cruz Roja, fue contratada en OLC y regresó a sus estudios donde recibió una licenciatura Post-Bachillerato de Contabilidad de la Universidad Estatal de Portland. Le gusta estar detrás del escenario, apoyando a los que estan en primera línea para que puedan centrarse en cumplir con la misión del Centro de Leyes de Oregon (Oregon Law Center).

Rej Joo

Rej Joo is Oregon Law Center’s DEI Director.

Rej is a 1.5-generation Korean American man of trans experience who was born in South Korea and grew up in Portland. He recently returned to Oregon after living in NYC for 15 years, where he received his degree in psychology and completed his MPH from Columbia University. Since 2003, Rej has had the opportunity to grow with and serve various communities affected by poverty, mental illness, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, houselessness, homophobia, and transphobia. He is passionate about creating a learning and unlearning environment that is grounded in cultural humility where we acknowledge the ongoing process of self-reflective work. He strives for collective liberation through an intersectional lens where economic realities of low-income people cannot be divorced from racism and other systemic inequities. His DEI work has been shaped by experiences in the fields of public health, social service, research, community education, anti-violence work, and program evaluation. Rej enjoys gardening, geeks out on martial arts and holds black belts in the disciplines of Hapkido and Taekwondo (currently taking up BJJ).
