Public Affairs

The Oregon Law Center Public Affairs office educates and advocates at all levels of government for systems changes that will benefit low-income Oregonians throughout the state. We help the Oregon State Legislature and others understand our client community’s legal problems, which in turn helps policymakers adopt and implement laws and policies that make a positive difference in our clients’ lives.

State and national standards and guidelines for providing effective legal aid programs guide our team’s work. Following those standards, our board of directors sets priorities for our legislative work through a broad and inclusive process. As a result, we focus on critical statewide issues like domestic violence and housing, and look for emerging areas where our clients need access to justice. Our advocacy with legislative and administrative agencies ensures that those most in need are not forgotten.

Oregon Law Center is open and available to assist you.

While we are not accepting walk-in clients right now, please contact the office in your area by phone and we will get back to you shortly.  You can find your local office here.  Thank you and stay safe.
